The magician shows a deck of 52 different cards. Different movie Titles are boldly written black on the red back of each card. A movie collector's club prediction card is placed on the table in full view. The magician says "Since I'm a huge movie fan, I wrote the names of 52 of my favorite movies of all time on the back of each playing card. I did this for a reason though. If I can't decide which film to watch, I just pick a card and go with whichever one is on the back". The magician continues "I'm now even able to predict a movie.. allow me to show you what I mean".
The magician spreads the deck face up and a spectator is asked to pick any card they see at random (no force). The spectators freely chosen card is placed face up next to the tabled prediction. Magician: "If the movie represented by your freely chosen card matches the movie which is on my prediction card, wouldn't that be impressive?"
The prediction is turned face up by the spectator, to reveal the movie "Casablanca"....the spectator's card is turned face down to reveal that "Jurassic Park" is printed there. It seems the magician screwed up, as the prediction and the spectator's chosen card do not match. However, the magician waves the whole deck verse the chosen card, and when the deck is turned face down and spread out, the whole deck of cards is changed into a "Jurassic Deck" of cards, matching the chosen card.
When the cards are placed back into the box, even the card box changes to the theme of the movie!

Spin-It is a visual card transposition where two cards bolted together instantly switch places in front of the audiences eyes. No tricky sleight of hand, no huge set-up, just a simple and astonishing effect.
The trcik can be set-up prior to performance and can be carried around with you all night in a normal card case or wallet. As long as you have more than one set up, you the effect is instantly reset and you are ready to go again.
Anyone can find a card with their hands - but finding a card with your feet - that's impressive.
A SIGNED, freely chosen card is lost in the deck, before the deck is spread out on the ground in front of your spectators. Running your foot over the top of the cards you stop when you feel you have the right one. You SLAM your foot home on the cards, and step back triumphantly.

Parallel Worlds is my variation on an effect that I learned over 20 years ago. The original name of the effect and its originator were not found after considerable research, but if and when I find it or it is brought to my attention I will give full credit for the inspirational source.
My variations to the original effect were put into place to make the visual and mental flow (for the spectator) more seamless between the physical and verbal misdirection needed to accomplish this effect.
My variation contributions were replacing a top and bottom milk shuffle pull off with a straightforward direct count and replacing the multiple slip cuts (difficult to do with a small packet of cards) with honest straight cuts. Routine structure was also altered to maximize continuity of thought for the spectators.
These vary simple variations from the original effect I feel vastly improves the depth of deceit for the spectators and ease of handling for the performer.
"Parallel Worlds" uses only 20 cards, which makes this effect a wonderful scaled down version of the original "Out of This World" by Paul Curry. I find it perfect to perform when your not quite sure if the audience's attention span will warrant performing a full deck version. Because "Parallel Worlds" is based upon an entirely different method, you are safe in following it up later on with your favorite full deck version.
I have found that by using JUMBO cards instead of regular size that the effect plays even bigger visually (not pun intended) as they cover the entire tabletop with a dramatic climax. Using Jumbo Cards does not impair the handling and it also rules out the possibility of using sleight of hand for the spectators.
There has been many parallel versions of "Out of This World" created since the Paul Curry original and I think that once you perform "Parallel Worlds", another out of this world experience will be added to your performing repertoire.
